HACKETT CATHOLIC PREP HIGH SCHOOL: 0
A wounded animal is often a dangerous animal, or so they say. The Bulldogs proved that Friday evening in downtown Kalamazoo to the tune of a 3-0 victory over D4 state-ranked Hackett Catholic Prep. What turned out to be a very physical and chippy affair was an opportunity for our players to bounce back after a tough loss, as well as prove a few things about their resiliency and determination.
Cait Kitchen atoned for her errors in finishing from Wednesday and netted two goals in the first seventeen minutes of play. The first assisted by a square ball across frame from Alison, and the second off a diagonal ball from right to left off the foot of Rylie. The third goal came from a set piece earned by Alison, struck by Alison, and touched past the keeper by Lauren for her second of the year. A great finish under pressure, and a great reward for our midfield workhorse! The Bulldogs as a unit, especially in back, stayed organized the rest of the way to put the game to bed. Hackett's only real clear chance came with less than 10 seconds on the clock, and Matti smothered it without issue.
Matti Rayman stood tall and saved 3 shots in the match, earning her 9th clean sheet of the season.
