A tale of two halves given the wind gusting end to end made for a very interesting match against the other Wolvering Conference "Bulldogs". A strong start for Otsego saw them up 1-0 just 45 seconds into the match on Grace VerHage goal set up by a brilliant Lauren Nieboer through ball. Otsego kept pressing and testing the back line of Vicksburg, and in the 21st minute VerHage found the back of the net yet again. 2-0 Otsego at the break.

The second half was a much different story, and Vicksburg were the aggressor. A couple early chances stopped by Matti Rayman, some tough and gritty defensive play in our end, and a potent counter attack would be the formula to try to weather the storm. Vicksburg's defensive third didn't see a ton of action in the second half, and the hold up play from Cait Kitchen up top was not springing our counter attack efficiently. The match became very physical, and some less-than-stellar officiating certainly put its stamp on proceedings. Both teams played above the distraction and actually provided a few really sporting moments given the situation. McKenzie Milton took an opportunity with twenty seconds left to strike it past the keeper after a VerHage throw-in to seal the victory at 3-0.
