The third match of the Panther Invitational saw a couple of 2-0 teams square off in a battle for the tournament's top prize. The match began with Mt. Pleasant clearly on the offensive hunting for an early goal. They were the sharper and more physical of the two sides in the early minutes of the first half and almost got their reward off a corner kick just 4 minutes into the match. The Dawgs started to settle in around the 15 minute mark and began pinging the ball around and stretching the Oiler midfield. Ambre Powell came up with three huge saves in the first 25 minutes of the match to keep the Oilers off the board. Those saves would prove crucial in the grand scheme of the tournament.

After halftime the Bulldogs were confident they could get a good result and take the tournament on Mt. Pleasant's home field. The second half was certainly exciting, but played at a bit slower tempo to start. Players on both sides seemed a bit drained from the day's action, and both sides started to get a bit sloppy in their passing. Nevertheless, both teams stayed strong at the back and were determined to keep their sheet clean. Otsego's back line were strong and disciplined throughout, even late on with the loss of left back Ashley Hathaway to a hurt knee. The Oilers knew they needed a late goal in order to take home the title, and the Bulldogs would be fine with just a draw. Otsego pressed and pressed in an effort to put the game beyond any doubt, but in the end a 0-0 result was probably fair.

Ambre Powell made 4 saves in the effort, and her distribution was more than good enough to help her team break on a few occasions. She was particularly strong in the air, and it seemed that getting the alternate Captain's armband for this tilt was a boost in confidence she used to guide her squad to the title.
