Your Bulldogs found a way through a stingy Beaver defense, and past a talented Freshman goalkeeper to edge host Harper Creek in non-conference action Monday night. The goal came with 12 minutes left to play in regulation when Erica Drobny beat her defender to the back post and headed home a beautiful flighted cross from Gracie VerHage. Matti Rayman held her first clean sheet of the season, making 6 saves in the effort.
The back line had their hands full with Harper's Senior attacker Allegra Baird as she accounted for half of the Beavers' shots. The match was back and forth, and played at a high tempo despite the lumpy and wet field conditions. Harper Creek keeper Maddy Alexander made 11 saves on the night to keep the home team in contention, and without her strong play denying the Bulldog attack the match could have gotten out of hand early.
Player of the Game honors go to Senior Captain Erica Drobny with 4 shots and the game winning goal.
