Bulldog Stadium was the site for a non-conference matchup between your Otsego Bulldogs and the traveling Parchment Panthers. Otsego has had Parchment's number the past few years, and this season would prove to be more of the same. Otsego had outscored the Panthers 23-1 over their previous four meetings. The Dawgs would tack another 8 onto that total on Monday sending their opponents home in the 56th minute.

Otsego started off quickly, having the majority of the ball and putting in some great service but couldn't find the finish. Parchment's keeper made a few key saves to keep Otsego off the board in the early going. His efforts wouldn't be enough as Jakson Dentler broke the scoreless draw in the 14th minute when he tapped home a loose ball from 5 yards out. A few more saves from the keeper, some missed opportunities for the Dawgs, and two or three blocked shots by Parchment's back line held Otsego for another ten minutes. Otsego earned a corner in the 25th minute, and Avery Bush delivered an inch perfect ball for Jerin Jameson to head home from 8 yards out. Jameson notched another one 5 minutes later after a glorious turn to get into the box and split two defenders. Addison Atwater recorded one of his three assists on the night, feeding Jerin a well-weighted pass near the top of the box. The fourth goal came from Jakson Dentler again as he again slotted it home from close range after Hunter Lucas and Atwater teamed up to keep the ball alive on the Parchment endline and feed Yak. Otsego would add two more before halftime, and a couple of the younger players would find themselves on the score sheet for the first time. Sophomore first year player Noah Corradini used his first touch of the game to crank a shot off the crossbar that nearly went bar-down and would have been a challenger for goal of the year. Instead it fell to Atwater who tallied his only goal of the night from deep inside the 6 yard box. Moments later Freshman midfielder Owen Bush carried the ball into space and squared it to an open Josh Loll who buried his shot from 20 yards out. 6-0 at the break.

Otsego came out in the second half with a new keeper in Sophomore backup Brendan Gross. Starting keeper Jayden Dentler, who made one save in the first half, started the second half on the opposite end of the formation at target forward. Otsego had a plan and a goal to work on some possession in the early going and were efficient in passing the ball around and supporting one another in the first five minutes. Senior Jace Engels found a way in behind the back line on the left flank, cut it back to Jayden who worked on a defender and found Coleton Hutchinson for his third goal of the year. The final goal to secure the mercy rule victory would come from the big keeper-turned-striker in the 56th minute. Atwater, playing a very unfamiliar left back position, curled a ball between two defenders and into the path of the elder Dentler. Jayden took it down in stride and hammered it past the closing goalkeeper to send the Panthers packing.

The team will host conference foe Edwardsburg on Wednesday evening at 6pm in what promises to be another tough early season test for the Dawgs.
