ALLEGAN HIGH SCHOOL: 3
A scrappy, physical affair is the norm when Allegan and Otsego meet in boys soccer. This held true Monday night as the Dawgs traveled up M-89 to visit the Tigers. The difference in the match were 3 critical errors made by Otsego, and a lack of finishing for the visitors. A goalkeeper error, a penalty kick, and a counter-attack off a set piece led to the 3 Allegan goals on the night. All preventable mistakes by most standards. Josh Loll had opened the scoring twelve minutes into the match, but that was the last time the Dawgs found the net. Though they had their opportunities, and even played the final 22 minutes of the match a man up due to an Allegan red card, Otsego struggled to keep their composure in the biggest moments in a game that seemed to be getting away from them as the minutes ticked off the clock.
Though the team's effort and work rate were unquestioned, their decision-making and poise left much to be desired on the night.
