PORTAGE NORTHERN HIGH SCHOOL: 15
The Otsego Lady Bulldogs opened the season with a 58-15 victory over Portage Northern on the road. The Bulldogs got off to a slow start and led 7-5 after one quarter. Improvement in the second quarter led to a 21-9 halftime lead and a 25-0 run to start the second half put the game away. The lead eventually swelled to 40 points and the game ended with a running clock. Seniors Jaycie Callaway (15), Liz Barwegen (13), and Grace VerHage (11) led the way in the scoring column. Matti Rayman, coming off of a knee injury, had a successful debut with 7 points. Kaelyn Arlington (4), Ambreanna Powell (3), Ashtyn Harmon (2), Lauren Nieboer (2), and Lilly Kloosterman (1) completed the scoring. Callaway had 8 rebounds and 3 blocks to lead the team in both categories. VerHage had 4 Assists and 6 Steals.
